The climb up the Butte here in Palmer is a short hike, 1.5 miles one way and it rises 880 feet.  This is  a place where I like to go that's close to home for a little exercise during the day to break up my sitting at my computer.  Today it was a -10 degrees and the air was still.  Starting out at the base is a bit chilly, but I warmed up as I reached the first of 505 stair steps.  The view from the top is 360 degrees.  This photo is looking east toward the Knik glacier at the base of the mountains
