On my day off from working as an aid for Alaska wildlife Troopers, I came again to the port/beach of Ninilchik, Alaska. Mt. Redoubt is in the distance as the sun lowers in the sky and a seagull graces me with a visit atop an old broken down pier. This is the Cook Inlet named after Captain Cook. It's a distance of about 50 miles across the inlet and I've seen waves as high as 10 foot pounding the beaches here one day and the next day calm as glass.
