This is a moose yearling, new to this world with a bit of curiosity in him, as do I.   Mama was watchful of me and I made sure I did not come between baby and mama and had a place of safety close at hand. When threatened, Mama's can become 1800 pounds of frightening and deadly  anger in a second.    This little guy is only a few months old, but stands almost 5 feet to the withers.
